It’s Been a While

Filed under: General — Lexie Apodaca @ 12:46 pm

I am so sorry it has been so long since I have written on here. I have been so busy! I don’t think I really remember what the inside of my house looks like! I am anxious to get back though. We were there for 2 days last weekend where we had some ants that we had to get taken care of, so I know I am going to have a little bit of a mess to clean up when we get there tonight or tomorrow morning. We have been either in Silver City, Deming, Albuquerque, or home. There was a really big fire near Silver City, so all of the hotel rooms were taken up for all of the firefighters, so we had to stay in Deming for a week. That wasn’t so bad, but the only bad part about staying in small towns, is they don’t have any good resturants. A lot of them are fast food or small “mom and pop” resturants. We really don’t have the guts to try the ones we don’t know since Aaron is so picky about food. We are so sick of fast food. It is pretty sad when you want Subway just because it is not greasy or won’t make your tummy hurt!!

Haylee is growing like a weed! She is trying so hard to crawl the right way. She mostly does the army crawl. She can get one leg underneath her, but doesn’t know that she needs both legs under her to crawl! She mostly likes to stand up and get help walking. She says “Dada” all the time. I keep trying to get her to say “Mama” but no luck! She claps and says “Yeah” when we say she does something good and cheer for her. She is working on waving. She is just adorable. She draws quite the crowd whenever we are out in public. People in small towns are a lot more touchy-feely than in big towns. It is hard getting used to people wanting to touch her and play with her without asking, but if she brings people joy, then it is all worth it! We actually took her to Wal-Mart the other day to get her pictures taken, and the photographer was so impressed by how good she was at taking pictures and how cute she was, so she asked us for if when we pick up her pictures in July if we would sign a paper that would give permission for them to use her pictures for some of their advertising. Of course it will have to go through the coroprate people first, but we are so excited. I hope she gets it. I have been telling Aaron that I really want to get her into a baby contest or something because so many people have made comments about her. I don’t want to be too arrogant about Haylee, but I just think she is just the most adorable baby I have ever seen. I guess it is just a mommy thing! I am so amazed at how big she is getting. I just can’t believe all the things she is learning. I am so proud to have such a happy baby. We are the luckiest parents on the planet. We are doubly blessed that the other is on the way. We will know if it is a boy or a girl on July 11, so we can’t wait. I was 4 months pregnant yesterday. I can’t believe how fast this pregnancy is going. I have been feeling the baby moving around more and more lately. I think this one is a little more mellow than Haylee. I felt her move at 12 weeks, and it was non-stop from then on! This one, I can barely feel when I do think it is moving. I can’t wait until Aaron can feel the baby. We are going to have to start working on getting Haylee used to the idea of having another baby around. We are teaching her to say baby when she sees my belly. We are going to get her her own little dolly to carry around and be gentle with so she knows how to be the new one is around. OH! I almost forgot to let you all know the names we picked out. If it is a boy it will either be Aaron Jacob, named after Aaron, or Asher Jacob. Aaron gets to pick between the two. If it is a girl, she was going to be Zoe Madison, but now we like Paisley Madison. We heard that name on A Baby Story and loved it. Haylee is such a popular name, so we wanted something unique and different. I am so excited to find out if it is a little boy or a little girl. Either day we are totally blessed. I hope all of the father’s out there had a wonderful Father’s Day. Always remember that your kids need you no matter what, and they love you no matter what. I love my dad and I hope you had a fun Father’s Day!! I love you!! I hope all of you have a wonderful rest of your week, and have a GOD-FILLED-DAY!!!

Happy Birthday My Love!!

Filed under: General — Lexie Apodaca @ 9:16 pm

June 15, 1984, my mother-in-law gave birth to the most amazing man I know. Yes, it is Aaron’s birthday. He is the best thing to ever happen to me. In July, we will be together for 5 years, and we just celebrated our 1 1/2 year anniversary. I could not ask for a better man to spent the REST of my life with, and I mean forever! A lot of people tell us we are crazy for marrying so young, but why not? We both love eachother so much. We knew that we wanted a family, so we got started right away. Aaron gave me the best gift that I could have asked for, he gave me the opporotunity to have children. We have Haylee and she is such a joy in my life. Aaron is such a wonderful daddy. I know he loves Haylee with everything he has. We now have our 2nd child on the way. I know he is going to do such a good job being a daddy of 2. He goes to every appointment with me and gets giddy when he hears the baby’s heartbeat. He melts my heart and makes me feel so good about myself when he compliments me about parts of my body that I am not so comfortable with. Now that my belly is starting to expand, he likes to hold my belly and ask me how the baby is doing. He is amazing. I thank God everyday for giving me such a handsome, loving, honest, spiritual, hard-working and devoted husband.

I’m Going to Disneyland!!!

Filed under: General — Lexie Apodaca @ 2:59 pm

What a crazy few weeks!!! I am sorry it has been so long since I have written. I will be surprised to see if anyone is still reading my posts anymore. I promise you, I didn’t fall off the face of the earth, I have just been all over it, without the computer!! We found out about one week before Memorial Day that Aaron’s family is going to Disneyland. They invited us to go since the last time I was there, I was about 3 or 4 and I don’t even remember going. We said HECK YEAH!!! We were going to fly, but that was going to cost us about $800!! We wanted to drive, but we didn’t want to take the Titan because it would cost us just as much in gas, so Aaron made the tough decision to trade in the truck. He was so sad because he loved his truck and he had recently put 20″ rims on it. He knew that I needed a car, so he decided that he would take the Focus and I could have the car that we traded the truck in for. We came up with the Mazda 6. It is so nice. I am really happy with it. I told Aaron that all I wanted in a car was for it to have excellent safety ratings and really good gas mileage. It has both. We got about 35-37 on the highway for gas mileage which is great because in Needles, Califronia, gas was $3.75!!! I could not believe it! Good thing we didn’t stop there for gas!!! The average was about $3.25. Anyways, back on track!! We left for Albuquerque on Saturday because Aaron’s little sister Brittney was graduating from high school on Monday. I hung out with Erica and my Mom on Tuesday afternoon. I had so much fun because Erica and I don’t really hang out very often. We will have to do it again. We left for California Thursday morning at about 5:oo AM. Tiffany, the oldest sister, rode with us. It was nice to have some company and also nice because she helped out a lot with Haylee. We arrived in California around 6:00 that night. I about had a heart attack just driving by California Adventure!! I hadn’t seen anything yet!!!! I have about a million pictures. I would love to write everything that I did every day, but I honestly don’t remember!! The only thing I really remember is the schedule for the week. Friday we went to Disneyland, Saturday we went to Disneyland, Sunday we went to Universal Studios, Monday we went to San Clemente Beach and Sea World, Tuesday we went to Disneyland and then we were supposed to leave Wednesday, but everyone voted to stay one extra day and go to Knott’s Berry Farms, so that is what we did Wednesday. Thursday we drove back to Albuquerque with one other person in tow, the oldest brother Christopher, and with a sickness. Haylee wound up getting pink eye in BOTH eyes and had horrible sinuses. We missed the Urgent Care by about 2 hours, so we had to wait until the next day when we got home to Las Cruces (I think that is where we live!!) we called her doctor and they got her in the office 45 minutes later. She got some ointment for her pink eye and a decongestant. The pink eye cleared up but she will be on that for a few more days, but the congestion was still pretty bad. We had to take her back to the doctor because she developed a nasty cough and was throwing up. They changed her decongestant to an antihistimine and a decongestant which is helping, but we are still not getting any sleep because she is coughing like crazy. She had us up at about 2AM this morning after having another coughing fit and throwing up on Aaron. Aaron is sick also with a sinus infection and a bad cough, so I am exhausted!!! I wish they would have given her something for her cough! We had to stop giving her milk because it was just making everything thicker, so she is drinking Pedialite and Sprite, which she hates!! It is going to be a fun few days! Oh, did I mention we are in a hotel room again for the week!!! OOOHHHH Life is so much fun!!!! As I remember more about the trip I will post it. I had an obgyn appointment on the 1st of June, but we were in California, so I will let you know how the baby is around the 13th of June!!!! I hope you all had a great Memorial Day weekend and I hope you all have a God-Filled week!!
