Lexie's Life

AAAHHHHH!

Filed under: General — Lexie Apodaca @ 6:12 pm

Well, the hard weekend is over. I don’t think I have ever been so nervous going to one place in my life. I was shaking, sweating, had a lot of nausea, and was not up to it at all. I almost backed out of going, but knew that we had to be there for our friends. Aaron’s mom Rosie watched Haylee for us because everyone else was at work and school. It was fun for her because she got her to herself for about 3 or 4 hours. When we got to the church, we were nervous to walk in because we weren’t sure if we were going to see an open casket or a portrait of the baby, so we walked in slowly. There was no open casket or portrait of the baby. I think that they only wanted the parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles to see the baby. I think it would be hard for me to see a tiny baby like that since Haylee is so young and we are pregnant again. We saw the Grandparents of little Shaelyn Marie and said our “I’m so sorry”s. It was hard for us because we have known them for so long. Shaine wasn’t there yet, nor were Delana or Danny. We sat down, because they were getting ready to start the Rosary for the baby and her family. We weren’t really paying attention when her parents walked up to the front of the church. They were going to sit down, but they suddenly had to go be with their little girl. Aaron and I really started crying then. That was tough for us. That is the same spot in the front of the church where we got married. Danny and Delana also got married there. It was so sad. We sat down and said a Rosary, then they started the service. Instead of doing a normal mass for the dead, they did a mass for the Angels. Shaelyn didn’t have to be born into this world to suffer, she will never know pain, never have to experience sadness, anger, guilt, or be hurt by anybody. All she is ever going to know is God’s perfect love. She is such a lucky little girl. She is up in Heaven now, living with God. She is going to be a little angel for her family. She has a sibling up there with her, so their family is really blessed, they have 2 little angels up there praying for them. After the service, we loaded up a few people in our truck, including Shaine, who seemed a little shaken up. We made our way to the cemetery, the same one that we were at for Easter. Shaine’s little brother Kyle helped with the tiny little casket. He is only 6. He did a very good job. It was rough to see her parents there. They didn’t bury her while everyone was there, I believe they waited until it was just her parents there. They had a little reception at the church afterwards, so we went there so we could wait for Danny and Delana so we could pass on a little gift for them and say give our condolences. They had some food that the church provided. We talked to them for just a bit because they were trying to eat, but the only words that I can remember Delana saying to me was “Take care of those babies.” That broke my heart. If you all could keep them in your prayers, we would all really appreciate it.

We are back in Silver City. I thought Haylee had a Dr. appointment today at 11:30, so we went back to Las Cruces last night, but when I got up, I looked at the appointment card and it was on Monday. I had to reschedule, so now it will be the day before my appointment next week. That is a lot easier for us, so I guess it is all for the better. We are really tired of traveling. Next week we will be at home!! Aaron is just going to commute to Deming during that week, so Haylee and I get to be at HOME!!!! We are soooo happy. Anyways, I am going to feed my little bug-a-roo!! Have a God Filled Day!!!

A Sad Day

Filed under: General — Lexie Apodaca @ 9:11 pm

As you all know, we were in Silver City this week. As there is not much to do there, we decided to walk around Wal-Mart on Tuesday night after dinner. While Aaron was looking at all of the tools, we got a phone call, one that would make us cry. Our best friend Shaine called us. He has a sister, Delana and her husband Danny. She was in our wedding and so was Shaine. They are really awesome people! We see them on Sundays when we are here at church and they enjoy holding our little Haylee. They were so happy for us when we told them we were expecting #2. They are pregnant also. She is 36 weeks. Well, I guess I should say was. He called us to let us know that they went to a regular 36 week check-up and they could not detect the heartbeat. It felt like someone had kicked me in the stomach. We had just seen them on Easter Sunday. Aaron had touched her big belly and she was glowing! They were going to rush her to the hospital and do an emergency C-Section, so he said he would call to keep us updated. He called a while later to tell us that the baby had already passed. They didn’t go ahead with the C-Section since there was nothing they could do. They induced labor and let her have her that way. They got to hold their little girl finally.

The doctors figured that is was due to the baby’s umbilical cord being wrapped around her neck. She had been dead for about 3 or 4 days. Delana had no idea. This is her 2nd miscarriage. We came into Rio Rancho today, Thursday, so we can attend the rosary, funeral and burrial tomorrow morning. They are burring her at the same cemetery that they had Easter Mass on Sunday. They had no idea that they would be back to that cemetery so soon. I am not really sure how to feel right now. I am so sad, almost angry. I am pregnant again, so it is almost like I feel a little bit of guilt for being pregnant and she has tried twice. I guess all I can offer are my prayers. I will let you all know how everything goes. God Bless you and all of your little families.

Easter

Filed under: General — Lexie Apodaca @ 3:11 pm

What a wonderful weekend we had! I love Easter so much! During Lent, the weather is pretty crappy, but I love how Easter Day is beautiful. Lent was good for us. I gave up dessert and Aaron gave up alcohol. He is not an alcoholic or anything, but he figured that since it was his first Lent being 21 that it would be a good sacrifice. For me, I love dessert!! Any kind of dessert will do for me to except those fruit-filled pies. Yuck! I was a little worried about gaining weight, so I thought that would be a good thing to give up. Even now that I am pregnant, it helps out because I am worried about gaining too much weight with this baby. I gained 50 pounds with Haylee!! I thought I was going to die! I am starting out this pregnancy at 117 and I do not want to get over 145. I am just praying that this baby is healthy and everything will go great.

So, on Saturday, I got to hang out with my momma. She needed to get some groceries and cash a check, so I went with her. We had a really good time. She is so good with Haylee, she just loves her so much. She got to see her sit up on her own and roll over. Haylee also cut her first tooth on Friday and her second one on Saturday. She has been pretty cranky, so we are making sure that she is as confortable as possible. On Saturday we went to another one of Cameron’s baseball games. It is one of the best major league games I have seen. The game was 14-10! Cameron’s team won. Both teams were great. After the game, I went with Rosie, Amber and Cameron to Target to get some last minute things for Easter. After that, we went to Albertson’s to get the groceries for Easter Day. We were gone for about 3 or 4 hours, no joke!! We got everything we needed except plastic forks and spoons. When we got home, we spent the evening putting away all of the stuff that we got and making dinner. After making dinner, Amber and I really wanted to make a cake for Easter. We decided to make a double-layer chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and an icing bunny face on the top. That took us about 3 hours to do because we had to make it, let it cool, frost it, let that cool, then mix all of the icing colors then do that. It was so much fun and definatly brought out my creative side. I will post some pictures of that.

Sunday was really great. Tiring, but great! We got up at 6:30 AM so see what the Easter Bunny brought for everyone. Haylee had 3 baskets this year!! She was very lucky. Aaron and I got eachother something last Thursday together because we wanted to be sure that we got eachother something that we could both get a lot of use out of. I got him some tools that he needed and he got me a WOW Worship 2006 CD and a Mah Jhong computer game. He got a shirt and a tie from the Easter Bunny and I got a shirt and some pants from the Easter Bunny. Haylee got a cute little onsie with a collar and a skirt to go with it and this cool thing that you can put some fruit and stuff in that they can chew on without choking on it. My mom got us a basket. I got a Tetris game, Aaron got a bag of Skittles (he likes those a lot), and Haylee got a little dress. After that, we had breakfast and then everyone started to get showered and ready for church. We went to Mass In The Grass. Every year they do a few masses outside on Easter. Last year it was at a park, so this year we went to Vista Verde Cemetery. I thought it would be a little creepy, but it was beautiful. Think about it, this is the day that Christ rose from the dead to save us all. There is a great possibility that most of these people burried in the cemetery are up in Heaven with Him. That is awesome! I got so sunburned though!! My nose is bright red and my arms are baked!! Haylee didn’t even show a bit of red. She just got darker!! After mass, we went home to get lunch started. Aaron’s Nanny and Mr. Mischke came over to celebrate with us. We had BBQ chicken, ribs, hot dogs, and burgers. It was amazing!! I told Sonny that I think I had died and gone to BBQ heaven!! We had lots of snacks, including the cupcakes and cake that I had made. All of this baking has given me my new nick-name. I am now called Betty Crocker!!! I think that is so funny. After everyone left, we went to the park to play some baseball. We had 2 teams and a babysitter for Haylee. Aaron, Amber, Tiffany and I were on one team, but Amber had to run for me since I am pregnant, and the other team was Rosie, Sonny, Chris and Cameron. Brittney watched the baby for me because she doesn’t really like to play sports. The score was 3-4, their team won. Aaron had a horrible crash during the game and Sonny had pulled his back due to my horrible pitch, so we were done! We took Haylee over to the park. She has never been to the park before. We took her to the baby swings and she loved it!!! She was so good on the swing. We went to go see Aaron’s grandmother and his Uncle Herman. She was doing well. She noticed that Haylee was there and that made her happy. After that, we went home and sat for about 30 minutes then decided to go on a walk. We put Haylee in the stroller, Amber on her bike and Cameron and I got on the Razor scooters. Aaron, Chris and Rosie walked. We had such a good time. It was so refreshing to be outside all day and enjoy the fresh air. We got home and we were hungry, so Aaron ordered a pizza. We finally got to relax. I relaxed for about 3 hours, then remembered that I had not finished scanning all of our wedding pictures onto a CD. I had about 4 envelopes left, then I had to fold some laundry. I got to bed around 12 or 1AM. I was so tired.

We got up Monday morning at 8:ooAM. We ate, said our goodbyes and were on the road. We are not home though! We are in Silver City. It is really windy out here. We are going to be out here for quite a while. I will have to find something to keep me busy while we are here. We went to dinner last night and it was delicious! We went to Wal Mart, about the funnest thing you can do here so far, then went back to the motel. Today we got ready, drove around town so Aaron could get an idea of where everything is. We had lunch and came home. It is going well so far! I will write more in a few days, if anything exciting happens!!! Have a God-Filled Day!!!

CUPCAKES!!!

Filed under: General — Lexie Apodaca @ 1:44 pm

This is such a fun day for me!! I am making the cutest and best tasting cupcakes ever!! They look like little Easter baskets. Instead of just plain cake batter, you add 2 cups of chopped Milky Way mini bars. You tint the frosting green, make it look like grass on the top, put jelly beans on it, then put a piece of licorice over the top to look like a handle. They are so cute. When I am done, I will be sure to take some pictures for you all. The timer went off!! Have a good day!!

What A Day

Filed under: General — Lexie Apodaca @ 1:38 pm

Oh goodness! This has been a long 2 days. Yesterday, Tuesday the 11th, I was able to get all of our laundry done and get started on some of the ironing. I got about 4 or 5 of Aaron’s work shirts done and my Easter outfit done. When Aaron got home, I made dinner, eggs and pancakes, then we went on a walk with Haylee in her stroller. When we got home, we went in the garage with Aaron while he worked on his motorcycle. He is so excited about this thing! He just found out today what model and type it is. Right now it looks like a huge pile of parts in our garage, but I know he will have fun working on it. He is also trying to learn how to weld. He has a welder, but cannot figure out how to get a steady stream of beads, instead, he is just burning a bunch of holes in the metal!! He will figure it out one way or another! After he was done working on his bike for the night, we went inside and watched Scrubs. We wanted to go to a movie, but the last showing of Benchwarmers was at 9:30 PM, that is too late for Haylee to be out. So, while we were watching television, we saw a commercial for the DVD Fun With Dick and Jane. I have wanted to see that movie for so long. We ran out to see if we could get it before it was all sold out because it was the first day of release. We got it!! It is a very funny movie! We love movies. We just took back Prime. That was rather funny. After the movie, we went to bed.

Today has been so long! It is not even 3 PM and I am exhausted! I got the house picked up and I remembered that Aaron mentioned the other day that we needed to sweep and mop the kitchen and the entry. Our patio also needed to be cleaned, and so did the oven and the racks. My body aches! We don’t have a mop, so the kitchen was done on my hands and knees! The oven is sparkling along with the racks. Our front patio looks great now. It was so dirty from the wind blowing here so bad. The dirt here is red, not brown like most dirt, so it looked horrible! Now it is pretty and you can’t track red dirt all over our house when you walk it the door.

I am finally taking a break! I have to get moving again soon though because I have more ironing to do. When we leave from Albuquerque on Monday morning, we are going to Silver City! We are not too excited, but you do what you have to do. We will be there for a while, coming back on the weekends to do laundry and some housework, then back again. It is free for us, and Haylee and I get to go with Aaron, so it’s all good for me!

An update on the new baby, I have a doctors appointment on May 3. They have to do an ultrasound because I had a C-Section only 6 months ago. I guess they want to make sure everything is ok in there. I will actually be seeing 2 midwives. I will alternate between them until I am close to my due date. I will then see the actual doctor that will be doing my C-Section. At this office, once you have had a C-Section, they don’t let you try a VBAC (vaginal birth after C-Section). I guess there are too many risks, and I am not willing to take them, so I am really happy and anxious about this new experience. I will keep you all updated with pictures and writing on here often.

I am going to go do some more ironing! I hope you all have a wonderful, God-Filled Day!!! :)
