Being Crafty!!
Well, I forgot to write last night because Aaron went to play basketball with his buddies while Haylee and I stayed at home and watched a movie. I watched Elizabethtown. It stars Orlando Bloom and Kirsten Dunst. It is such a good movie, if you haven’t seen it, I suggest you do. Aaron had a really great time playing basketball, but because he hadn’t played in so long, he got really tired and today he says he is pretty sore! I am glad he had a good time though.
Last weekend, I had the great day to make Haylee some onsies. At my baby shower, we made some for her, so I decided it was time to make her some more. Aaron and I really don’t like most of the baby clothes out there, they are too frilly and kind of ugly!! We like to dress her like a real person! She has some blue jeans, some courderoys, and 2 dresses. Let me tell you, she has tons of shoes!! She is like her mommy (and daddy!) in that way. She has 8 pairs now and 2 that she has outgrown. I love to spoil her, so I am hoping that our next baby will also be a girl!! I have taken some pictures of her shoe collection and also of her onsies that I made.
I think there is something I should explain about 2 of the onsies. One of them says, “Smile emo kids.” I had no idea what an emo kid was until about a month ago. What I understand they are are kids that are mad at the world but they don’t want to committ suicide, which is a good thing. They dress in very tight jeans, girls and boys, they wear weird t-shirts sometimes with rock bands on them or cartoon characters, shrits that you could get mostly from Hot Topic. They wear their hair somewhat long and their bangs swooped across their eyes. They have black thick rimmed glasses and wear Converse All-Star shoes. The reason her onsie says that is because they are so sad. We just want them to cheer up.
Her other onsie that I want to explain is one that says “My lovely baby bumps…” on the front and on the back it says “Check it out!” If you have not heard the song, it is The Black Eyed Peas. The lady is talking about her body. She is a curvy lady and she is talking about her “lovely lady lumps.” We didn’t want to put that , but we wanted to make a really funny one. I really have a good time making onsies for her. I think ones you make are better because they are more personal. You can make them the colors you want and make them say whatever you want. I think all mothers should do this for their children at some point or another, no matter how old they are!!!
I am going to jump in the shower and get ready for my eye appointment. We moved it up to today rather than Saturday because we would like to leave tomorrow morning than in the afternoon. I hope you all had a great day yesterday and have a really great one today! Check out my picture album! God Bless!!!
